1929, Director Aleksandr Dovzhenko
One of the most magnificent films ever, in which every shot hits you like a fist. This masterpiece, shot in the aftermath of the first world war and during the civil war in Ukraine is a frenzied, powerful and courageous view of events at the end of the 1910’s in Ukraine. It’s also a timeless example of how speeches and meetings can be held forever, but until all parties aim for the same target and with a sincere heart, a satisfactory result is impossible to achieve. The final scene will be imprinted on the viewer’s retina forever and proves that as long as indifference and persecution persist in the world, the flames of revolution will never be totally extinguished.
